The lemon is young, fresh and juicy just like him :-) As an Indian friend explained to me, there is a popular ritual: You cut the lemon it in half, put red powder on it, and throw it over your shoulder and leave it lying on the floor. This is warding off the evil eye. But you should never step over it when you see one along your path, that would invite bad luck.
